During weekdays the store is open 9am - 5.30pm however it is always best to call in advance - 01629 581403 - if making a journey as there are occasions when we are not able to be there.  During February the store will be open Saturday 6th February and 13th February, with appointments only on Sunday 14th am.  Due to our being at shows the last two weekends (see below), the store will be closed.

Reenactors Kit Fair, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Barnsley

A new event this year which we all hope will grow and establish itself as a venue a bit further north than other events.  Elsecar Heritage Centre is also a great place to visit.  It is easy to find, take J37 of the M1 and follow signs for the Heritage Centre, approx. 4 miles.  The fair is run by www.foreign-field.co.uk.

Saturday 20th/Sunday 21st

We should be in our usual place and looking forward to the event very much and seeing customers and friends alike.  This is a well-established event, which has grown in strength year on year, and should be visited by anyone with an interest in reenactment, live role play, archery, fashion and textiles, education, film and tv, native american and rendezvous, living history, theatre etc.

Leather Craft Workshops are now available

We are now able to run workshops on most aspects of leathercraft including carving, stamping, dyeing, sewing and lacing.

Leather craft is a wonderful skill and we are pleased to be able to offer you Workshops in a variety of subjects.  Leather carving, belt making, knife sheaths, stamping, dyeing and stitching are some of the subjects we can cover.

We can also offer instruction on making smaller items like key rings, book marks and wrist bands for Clubs, Societies, Scouts etc.

Workshops are normally held with a maximum of four students so you can be assured that you will receive personal tuition.  However we can accommodate more or less if required.

You will be introduced to various types of leather and their uses, how to use various tools and what they do.

All materials and tools will be supplied and you will leave with the item you have made, your first piece of carving, a belt or similar item.  An option to purchase a basic tool set and other items at a reduced cost will be available to order.

Workshops are held at our Matlock Store and at venues around the country.  We are happy to consider your own requirements and can travel any distance to your own venue (minimum 2 students).
